Star Trek is one of the only TV shows from the 60s that people are still regularly rewatching. I'm not saying that The Beverly Hillbillies wasn't an incredible piece of television, but they're not making Beverly Hillbilly TV shows on Paramount+ to this day. The 90s might've seen the reassurance of '60s TV by reviving The Brady Bunch, but its cultural staying power has fizzled since then. Star Trek is a totally different beast because it can live on without the original actors from the original series. It's a shockingly easy series to reboot because you can just jump a century or two, rendering all the past characters obsolete in the day-to-day lives of our new group of explorers.
